Is it bad to completely drain a rechargable battery and recharge it every day?
Will it drastically shorten the amount of time the battery holds its charge?
Depends.
NiCd batteries actually will preform better is discharged fully before re-charging.
NiMh batteries will work either way, but have a limited recharge number. Sometimes as little as 500 times, depending on the battery.
I'm not sure about LiPo batteries yet, as I have limited experience. I have them in my cell phone and camera. I use my cell phone heavily, and I can tell that the battery isn't as good as when it was new. I typically had to recharge it daily, but now have to do it multiple times per day. My camera get used minimally, and has not faired very well. The batteries always seem to be discharged when I pick up the camera, but charging them, semms to bring them back to life, but I don't have a good feel as to how long.

Velocity-Control Chamber in the Long- and Middle-irons
Each R9 long-iron and middle-iron (3- through 6-) houses a large and fully enclosed compartment positioned behind the clubface, underneath the cavity badge. Called the Velocity-Control Chamber (VCC), it makes it possible for an immense area of the ultra-thin (2.0 mm) clubface to exist unsupported.
TaylorMade calls it a wrap-around clubface because it acts like a face that wraps around the top-line and the leading edge, which gives the face more freedom to flex and reflex at impact, much like a thin-faced driver.
Inverted Cone Technology
The VCC makes it easier to launch the ball with the long- and middle-irons, yet TaylorMade engineers have gone to great lengths to ensure that the R9 irons deliver controlled power by incorporating Inverted Cone Technology on the inner side of the clubface. In addition to promoting higher ball speed on off-center hits, the Inverted Cone has been carefully calibrated to eliminate “hot spots” so that ball speed is consistent across the clubface, resulting in keen and consistent distance control in all of the R9 irons.
Perimeter Weighting
Although the R9 long- and middle-irons don’t immediately appear to be perimeter-weighted they are, given that the VCC is occupied by a nearly weightless foam, as well as a silicone shock absorber positioned directly behind the center of the face; both serve to absorb unwanted impact vibration. The foam starts as a powder sealed within the VCC; heating the clubhead turns the powder to foam that expands to completely fill all open areas of the chamber, ensuring that the sound and feel at impact is soft, agreeable and consistent across the face.
R9 Short Irons
R9 short-irons are engineered to deliver increased playability, control and feel in the scoring zone. The simple, straightforward teardrop shape and clearly delineated leading edge make it easy for any player to aim these irons target-ward and fire the ball at the flag.
R9 short-irons also incorporate a vibration-quieting layer sandwiched between the backside of the clubface and the thin, protective black badge in the cavity. The vibration-quieting is a visco-elastic adhesive made by 3M that also absorbs unwanted vibration and sound
Additionally, at the bottom of each short-iron cavity (hidden behind the badge), more weight has been concentrated at the heel and toe to more stability and forgiveness on mis-hits.

Can anyone help me re-arange a Cubic formula?
Here is the origional Formula
w=a*x^3+b*x^2+c*x+d
I need to re-arange the formula so that I can input a "x" to get the "w".
This is a calibration curve for a basis weight sensor the x is a voltage ratio and the w is weight in grams per square meter.

This *is* the way to write it so that x is the input and w is the output. If you want to solve for x in terms of w (i.e. have w the input and x the output), you are better off doing numerical approximations than using the cubic formula (it is really, really nasty).

Biological microscopes are those that are used in laboratories, hospitals and even schools to observe specimens that would later be used for research and diagnostics. Technology Used
The most common technology used in biological microscopes is through a Compound Microscope. Then you have inverted microscopes. In this type, you are given the chance to see through thicker specimens. As such, the lenses are closer to the specimen being examined. In effect, this "type" of biological microscopes allow you to have a clearer view of a thicker specimen.
Biological microscopes also come in more advanced technologies. Usually, these types are more expensive, and less common. Examples are acoustic and ultrasonic microscopes. These biological microscopes make use of very high frequency ultrasound in examining specimens. This characteristic gives them the ability to penetrate solid objects in a non-destructive and non-invasive manner. From this type of microscope, cracks, voids and other defects are made visible.
Other technologies used are microwave microscopes, Scanning Electron microscopes, laser microscopes and polarizing microscopes, among others.
Talk about Eyepieces
Biological microscopes also come in forms that differ in terms of the number of eyepieces used. An eyepiece - also referred to as the ocular - is that part where you look through in order to see the specimen being observed. There are monocular, binocular and trinocular microscopes. As the name suggests, monocular means having only one eyepiece, binocular, two, and trinocular, three eyepieces. Now, you would think why these differences?
Monocular and binocular are common. You see them at school and they were the ones used in your science class. A Trinocular Microscope is less common and you wonder what the third eyepiece is for when we only have a pair of eyes? Well, the third eyepiece comes in handy to let another observer - like your teacher - take a view of the object you're examining. As such, the two of you can look at the specimen at the same time. Also, the third eyepiece is useful for connecting your biological microscopes to a camera and have the image projected to cater to a larger audience.
