LED Under Cabinet Lighting
Contractors can offer their commercial clients under LED under cabinet lighting in a variety of fixture types. LED under cabinet lighting has evolved to the point that they now can produce lighting qualities comparable to incandescent, xenon, and fluorescent sources. At the same time, the builder, contractor, or commercial lighting designer is never limited to a single choice of under cabinet light fixture type. Clients with particular tastes can be accommodated according to their preferences without compromising technical performance or aesthetic results. Interior architecture can be perfectly matched with either standard or custom led under cabinet lights that compliment differentiating features and blend seamlessly with the décor of their immediate surroundings.
LED under cabinet strip lights
Strip lights are considered the luxury form of undercabinet light fixtures. LED linear strips feature a custom cut track that is intended to hide itself underneath the cabinet's forward exterior. Up until recently, incandescent, xenon, or halogen festoon lamps provided slightly varied forms of white lighting. Incandescent and halogen were used mostly to light warm colors, and xenon was used extensively for cooler colors because of its slightly golden tone. LED undercabinet lighting has altered the boundaries of these near absolutes. Because LED's can produce any color of light now, including white, they can be adjusted to spectrally match whatever surface they are meant to illuminate. Because their slim design measures less than one inch, they are superb light sources for any decorative display. Contractors routinely decorate bookshelves, antique cases, curio cabinets, and even ornamental furniture pieces with these custom-made, proprietary fixtures. Because they require only 20% the electricity as general room lights, and because they are completely dimmable, many people simply turn them down for night lighting effects rather than completely turning them off.
Under cabinet LED puck lights.
Puck lights have always been popular as kitchen under cabinet lights and are also used in curio cabinets and very large bookshelves. Although not less unobtrusive, and therefore less ornamental, than linear light strips, LED puck lights still provide an elegant compliment to many environments. They can be used in a wide variety of places because they vary so greatly in size. Their basic design, similar to that of a hockey puck, gives them their colloquial name. LED puck lights are often used for tandem lighting in a series. Because of the power saving curb they offer to the Spartan budget, more fixtures and more light can still be produced at lower operating expense. Although not as sophisticated as linear strips, puck lights are nevertheless very popular because they are easy to install and can be used in either functional or decorative under cabinet lighting.
Recessed LED under cabinet lights
Instead of simply attaching to the bottom of the shelf the way puck fixtures install, recessed led under cabinet lights are mounted directly into the shelf. They are therefore a Great Deal more low profile and generally preferable to standard pucks when aesthetics is a major concern. Because they must be installed by cutting into the surface of the cabinet, make certain that your client absolutely wants recessed led lights under the cabinet prior to installation. Once installed, however, they cannot be removed without leaving a visible scar.
LED Rope lighting
LED rope lighting for under the cabinet light is the simplest way to illuminate countertops and kitchen interiors. It works very well in smaller houses, townhomes, and apartment units where decoration without extravagance represents the most sensible and cost effective means toward a better aesthetic. LED rope lights can be purchased in all primary colors, as well as white, in very large quantities for low prices. This is ideal for a builder working on small homes and condominiums looking to pass on savings to the first time buyer, who may or may not want to upgrade the lighting later, but who nevertheless will be happy to see some sort of under cabinet lighting when he or she first moves in. These lights are very easy to mount as well using plastic clips that attach them to cabinet under surfaces and shelving in displays and bookshelves.
If you have any questions about LED applications and qualities, ask a lighting specialist to learn more information these energy saving, unique under cabinet lighting fixtures.

What kinda fiber optic would I use to make a light?
So I want to make a light out of a fiber optic. what I want is to put an LED at one end and I want to sides of the fiber optic to light up so it looks like that length of the fiber optic is lite, so what kinda fiber optic would I use? Where would I get it? Thank you
Something cheap, plastic, and not clear ( a little bit translucent). Real fiber optics have two different densities so that the refraction prevents the light from leaking out. You want the light to leak out so you don't want real fiber optics.

Better Photo Tips - Studio Light Patterns
Hair Lights, Back Lights, and Barn Doors, oh my! Studio Lighting can be very overwhelming when you first start getting into it. Some photographers out there have thousands of dollars of accessories associated with their studio setup. The good news is, you don’t have to be rich to enter into the world of studio portraits. Think about it. How many light sources did God create for earth? If you said “One” meaning the sun; you were almost right. He also created the sky and the ground to “bounce” that light into the shadows. Light that is bounced back is commonly referred to as a “fill light”. If there was no fill light on earth; anything not directly lit by the sun, would have NO DETAIL, it would all be totally black.
It is astounding how much you can do with one main light and one or two fill lights. For those of you thinking three lights doesn’t sound simple to me, let me clarify. In this article what I am describing is one light and one or two reflective surfaces to help bounce that light or to fill in the shadows. With one light and one or more reflectors, you can make amazing photographs.
Having the tools and knowing what to do with those tools are two different things. Today I want to show you what to do with these basic tools.
1) Short Light is the type of studio lighting setup, where the face side of the subject which is the farthest from the camera gets the main light. In this type of lighting setup, the side of the face which is toward the camera gets less light then the side facing away form the camera. The effect you get when using this lighting setup is a thin face, this is why it is good to photograph large (or chubby) people with a short light setup. A photo tip worth remembering is: short light helps to visually thin your subject.
2) Broad light is just the opposite of Short light. In the Broad Light setup, the side that is getting the most light is the side facing the camera. This setup is less commonly used for portraits as it tends to make people look chubby. In both these cases, you can place a reflector on the opposite side of the light (at about a 45 degree angle) to help fill in the shadow side.
3) Split Light sounds more complex than it is. Position your main light on one side of your subject so that it’s exactly 90 degrees to the subject. In other words, you will see a dramatic shadow going right down to the middle of his or her face. If your main light is a flash, you might want to consider a secondary light; not for exposure . . . but just for light placement. We call this small secondary light a modeling light. In some units, they actually have a modeling light built in around the main light, so you can visually see what’s happening.
Using the modeling light, make sure the line between light and dark runs directly down the center of your model’s face, right down the tip of the nose. The model should be looking directly at the camera. This is what we call a split light portrait. Another photo tip is this: split light portraits, create dramatic visual results.
4) Rembrandt Light is considered an artistic classic. The main light is positioned high and on the side of the face that is away from the camera. Generally the subject is placed at a 45 degree angle to the camera (as opposed to just looking straight on.) This technique produces an illuminated triangle on the cheek closest to the camera. The triangle will illuminate just under the eye and not below the nose. The face should appear illuminated on one side and heavily shadowed on the other.
Place your reflector (or white poster board) on the opposite side of the studio light. The reflector should be angled so that it reflects any remaining light in the room to the subject's darken side. The key here is NOT to eliminate the dark shadows, but to add detail within the shadows. The third photo tip to remember: adding subtle detail makes images appear more artistic.
5.) Butterfly Light is achieved by positioning the main light directly in front of the subjects face and adjusting the height to create a shadow directly under, and in line with the nose. This style is best suited for subjects with a normal oval face and is considered to be a glamor style of lighting best suited for women. This lighting technique creates hard shadows in the eye sockets and under the chin depending on the size of your main light and distance to your subject. Use a reflector under the main Light Source to fill in the underside of the face (eye sockets, under nose and under chin areas). Sometimes this is referred to as “over and under lighting”.
Now the setups given above; can use extra lights, but they don’t have to. Just as you can take an award winning photographs with a $50.00 camera or a $5,000.00 camera, you can also take great shots with a single light source. As we mentioned before, having the tools and knowing what to do with them are two totally different things.
It is my firm belief that photographers who learned to master Black and White photography first and then learned Color photography; will ALWAYS have the advantage over those who started with color photography. This is not meant to insult younger photographers. If a cake taste bad, it doesn’t matter what kind of icing you put on it. Learn the basics of good photography first, and then you can add more lights, more lenses, or whatever the case may be. Thus the fourth photo tip to remember is this: start with the basics, master them first. Then go forward.

Whats the title of a young adult fantasy book where you built things out of light using a musical instrument?
When I was in middle school (I am 22 now) I read a book or series of books about people who could build things out of color or light or something using a form of instrument. The things you built were solid, like the main character used it to make stairs. Thats really all I remember except for something about a tower.
I would appreciate it if you could help me find the name of the book.
Oh brudder now you have my mind in a whirl...I read a series of those books and I loved the concept! I can't recall the name except it seems like Carolina or Caroline something was in the title. Maybe you can go into a book site and describe it.

Contrast Inverted

Snowshoe is beautiful feline breed with striking white colored paws and pointed appearance. The cat is an artificial breed that was created through crossing of domestic shorthair cats with Siamese in nineteen sixty in United States. The resulting babies with white mittens instantly appealed to the owner who began development of the Snowshoe in earnest. With time acceptance came for the felid in a number of cat fancies though it still lacks universal recognition. It is hard to predict the precise appearance of Snowshoes in a litter since apart from some characteristic features of the breed since they all differ in their individual colors and patterns.
Snowshoes are elegant like the Siamese and yet are sturdy like the domestic shorthairs. They have a longish muscular body that is said to contain surprising strength for their size. Head is wedge shaped with oval blue eyes and medium sized ears with slightly rounded tips. Coat varies in individual pattern in nearly all Snowshoes but generally has white patches on chest, face and stomach. There is an inverted white colored 'V' on face as well. Points occur on face, ears, tail and sometimes legs in blue, chocolate, fawn, lilac, lynx and seal colors.
Hallmark of Snowshoes are their pretty white toes that often contrast with darker markings on legs and give the cat its unique appearance. Paw pads are frequently light colored too but darken with age. The cats appearing in shows at times have quite remarkable markings, though they are very difficult to produce.
Snowshoes have a very boisterous personality and they are always looking to play and have fun. Extroverts by nature, they quickly attach themselves to all family members though they stay closest to one particular person. They go along very well with other cats and children and are always looking to interact with others.
The author is a blogger about cats and an expert on Snowshoe cat.
Inverted Colours on Laptop?
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro Laptop, running Windows Vista Business. Recently the colours have gone inverted and the screen seems to be dimmer than usual.
I have tried using the High Contrast shortcut, but that doesn't seem to work, because it makes everything bright so nothing can be read.
I have plugged the laptop into my TV, so i know it's to do with the screen and not the computer itself.
Anyone got any ideas or experienced anything similar?
Thanks

Interior Decoration With Exclusive Lighting Designs
When remodeling and decorating, we usually look for furniture, paint, carpets and decorative items as pictures. However, the lighting can have a big impact on the overall look of a room. The lighting design is responsible for setting the mood or ambiance of a space. With careful design and planning for the type, color and hue of the lighting, the room can be given a different ambiance. The right lighting can set a mood, improve productivity and contribute to people’s sense of well-being. It can transform unappealing spaces into desirable ones. Bright rooms give a positive and optimistic feeling, while darker rooms are more intimate and romantic. Research had proven that light can make big difference in how we feel.
Good lighting design will not make you frustrated in the kitchen when you are not able to see what you are doing, and it will stop the arguments in the bedroom over whose turn it is to get up to switch out the light. Instead, you should be able to transform a room from a bright, vibrant living space to the setting for a romantic dinner for two.
Natural lighting is the light from the sun that comes through windows and doors. Direct sunlight is a healthy source of light, but the brightness and intensity is very variable. The time of the day, the season or the weather all influence natural sunlight. To control the quantity of natural light, different types of glass or curtains can be used. Diffusion and reflection are great ways to control this free Light Source. A good idea is to find the wall that received direct light form the sun and paint it in a bright color. The reflected light creates an ambiance in the room. The surface of the wall can control the diffusion of the light; rough surfaces have different effects than smooth surfaces.
Artificial lighting can be any kind of lamp. This light source can be controlled in every aspect; intensity, color, and the area of spreading. To get the desired effects in a room, the best idea is to use a combination of different types of artificial lighting. Ambience lighting is to lighten the whole room and give a certain ‘mood’ to the space. Accent lighting is used to illuminate certain aspects or details of the interior decoration, as sculptures, pictures or display shelves.
Lighting could be functional or aesthetic. Functionally, the lighting needs to be correct for the intended purpose. A great example of functional lighting is task lighting: lamps for reading, lights over the sink or over the mirror in the bathroom. Task lighting should always be glare free to make the task easier without straining the eyes. Aesthetically, the lighting gives an ambiance to the space. For creating an ambience, environment lights are used in ceiling corners or along the sides of the room. The intensity and color of the lights are important for the ambiance. For ‘mood’ lighting, it is very important that the source of the light is hidden.
With a few lighting design ideas, you can change the visible appearance of a room and make it look larger or smaller. Rooms with high ceilings can get a cozier radiance by using lighting that is lower than the ceiling. The light should not escape beyond the height of the source. Use a lampshade that directs the light downwards. The other way around, by using upwards lighting pointed at the ceiling, rooms appear to be higher.
Standing lamps and table lamps work great for specific purposes and lighten up only an area of the room. A lamp should be placed behind a reader’s shoulder. Lamps are also perfect to brighten up dark corners in rooms. And of course, decorative lampshades on corner end tables and bedside tables enhance the ambiance and bring attention to a specific area of the room. The style of the fixtures will add to your interior decoration, whether turned on or off.
Lighting is just as important in interior design as the colors or the style of furniture and accessories. Your entire work in decoration can be ruined at once by poor lighting. But carefully planned lighting will greatly enhance the best details in your design.

Are lava Lamp Light bulbs going to be banned from the US light efficiency standards?
I know the law has exception for specialty bulbs, so do lava lamp bulbs count?
I doubt you'll have anything to worry about. Regular incandescent bulbs will be with us for a very long time. There will always be exceptions, such as the interior light in an oven for example, where a compact fluorescent just won't work. There's also millions of antique lamps, appliances and other devices (like lava lamps) that were designed specifically for regular light bulbs. CF lamps won't work in them, so your lava lamp is safe....at least, for the foreseeable future.
