Why does the doctors scale say I weigh 10 pounds heavier then any other scale?
On the Digital skales it says I weigh 133 and on the Old traditional skale at home and other places it says 122...N I know if I just lost 10 pounds but when I was 133 my skale I did not look 144 so do Digital Scales weigh heavier or something?
Scales vary in accuracy. I work in a kitchen in a nursing home. I had a large turkey that I had to cook for the residents. I wanted to know how much the turkey weighed so I would cook it the right amount of time. I took the turkey to the big Electronic Scale in the tub room. That weight seemed off by a lot. The nurse that was on duty had me weigh the turkey on the Portable Scale she had in the med room. The weight on that scale was 4 pounds different than the big tub room scale. Did the turkey miraculously lose 4 pounds? No, scales vary. The turkey weighed 34 pounds.
If you want to know for sure weigh something that you know the weight for sure. Like a 10 pound sack of sugar. Next time you go to the doctors take the sack of sugar (or whatever it was) and weigh it there. This sounds like a lot of work, but it is something I would do. But then again I work with stuff like that, and the scales are at my place of work.
